Hey there. My name is Nico De Backer, a profesessional web developer who’s passionate about creating high quality, standards compliant web sites and applications. I am currently based in Brussels, Belgium.

During the day I work at Jongerenwelzijn as webmaster/developer where my main task for 2012 will be to completely redesign and redevelop their website. In my free time I work on freelance projects.

I grew up in small town, Waarschoot, near the simply wonderful city of Ghent, where I studied and got my Bachelor’s degree in “Applied Computer Science”. After a short internship in Macael, Spain, I moved to live and work in Brussels in 2005.

I first started out coding up web pages in Notepad back in the day when tables for lay-out where best practice and Geocities! was the world’s beloved #1 free hosting platform.

I specialise in HTML, CSS, information architecture, usability & ExpressionEngine.
